Audiovisual Experimentalist

Creative Strategist

Lindy Lin is an electroacoustic composer, audiovisual experimentalist, and creative strategist based in Reykjav铆k and Shanghai. Her work merges cultural heritage with personal mediums, creating immersive, tactile experiences through natural soundscapes, everyday objects such as the Xiao flute and sewing machine, voice, and improvisation. Often evoking surreal and psychedelic atmospheres, her practice explores identity, gender, and societal imbalances.

After releasing her debut album Her Insula in Shanghai, Lindy relocated to Iceland in 2023 to pursue a Master鈥檚 in New Audiences and Innovative Practice at the Iceland University of the Arts. She has since become an active voice in Reykjav铆k鈥檚 experimental music and art scene. Her activities range from performing at the full moon event series curated by Bj枚rk鈥攕haring the stage with Bj枚rk, Jan Hendrickse, and John McCowen鈥攖o curating and supporting local events and venues, including R0613, Post-dreifing, Smekkleysa, and Mengi.

Lindy also leads and collaborates on multimedia projects that explore the boundaries of sound, performance, and identity. These include her solo project Mirror Stage: Perfect Score, an improvisation-based series featuring over 14 female-identifying Icelandic artists (such as S贸ley Stef谩nsd贸ttir, Berglind Mar铆a T贸masd贸ttir) , as well as collaborative ensembles such as the noise band Yang Soup, the feminist experimental trio Sew What, and the electroacoustic Wet Flute Trio, and collaborating with local artists including Ronja, 脰rlygur, Stirnir, and Masaya.
